Earlier today, we reported the rumor that not only has Captain Marvel been cast, but she’ll be making her first appearance in the already superhero-heavy Avengers: Age of Ultron. Having major superheroes make cameos or debut in other films from their respective studios has become the norm, so it’s hardly surprising to hear that X-Men: Apocalypse — which is said to primarily focus on the First Class cast — will feature a few cameos from other X-Men…including one pretty exciting mutant in particular.

The rumor comes from Latino-Review’s El Mayimbe, who continues to drop reports over on his Instagram account. It’s not officially confirmed as of yet, but the site’s reporting is often fairly reliable, so while you take this news with a grain of salt, you should maybe also turn back now if you’d rather not be spoiled on potential cameos for X-Men: Apocalypse.

It seems as though Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Halle Berry’s Storm will put in appearances for Apocalypse, which isn’t entirely surprising. You can’t have an X-Men movie without Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, and the actor recently expressed a desire to keep playing the character until he dies (or until Fox decides he’s done). This rumor is most likely true, and it’s not the first time we’ve heard it. If we’re also counting the upcoming Wolverine solo movie sequel, this would make the ninth time Jackman has played Wolverine on the big screen, and The Wolverine 2 probably won’t be his last, either. It wouldn’t be surprising if he popped up in the Deadpool or Gambit solo films.

Speaking of which, the last part of this rumor is the most potentially exciting: Channing Tatum’s Gambit will make his debut in X-Men: Apocalypse ahead of his 2016 solo film. Add Tatum to a cast that includes the likes of Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult and Oscar Isaac, and you’ve got a pretty intense lineup there.

Of course, we’ll have to wait to see how this all shakes out, but this rumor seems pretty legit, and having Gambit appear first in Apocalypse makes a whole lot of sense.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
