I have struggled with my weight my entire adult life. I lose it, I gain it back. Why is it so much easier to put weight on then it is taking it off? I was told once to get rid of my scale and not weight myself...it's just a number. Well, guess what? That doesn't work for me!

A new study found you're more likely to lose weight if you step on a scale every day.  Obviously it makes you more mindful of what you're eating.

Previous research revels dieters tend to regain 40% of the weight they lose within a year. I find that if I weigh myself every day that if I have an off day I can get on top of it quicker.

After I ditched my scale I gained a whopping 30 pounds! I felt like crap so I decided to get back on a diet and I weigh myself EVERY morning. I celebrate the loss and scold myself if I gain. I have found it much easier to lose weight this way.

Lead author of the study, Professor David Levitsky, said...

You just need a bathroom scale and an excel spreadsheet or even a piece of graph paper. The method forces you to be aware of the connection between your eating and your weight. It used to be taught that you shouldn't weigh yourself daily, and this is just the reverse.
