"We're fans of rock music from all the way back, and we were just sitting around talking, and we came up with this idea -- 'Wouldn't be fun if…?' So here we are."
Queensryche have enjoyed positive reviews for their first album with new singer Todd La Torre. But don't expect to hear any praise from La Torre's predecessor, Geoff Tate, who's touring and recording with his own version of Queensryche.
Singer Geoff Tate was the guest on Saturday night’s (Aug. 25) ‘That Metal Show’ on VH1 Classic, and provided an open account of his ousting from Queensryche, with some speculation as to why it occurred.
Now fans can pick a Queensryche, any Queensryche they like. The summer split of the longtime rock band has left singer Geoff Tate touring as the “Voice of Queensryche,” and the rest of the band touring as Queensryche. Paul Rodgers and Bad Company even find the arrangement confusing.
Last week Queensryche lead singer Geoff Tate found out he was fired when lawyers for the remaining members sent his lawyer a long legal document. After 30 years together, their relationship ended unceremoniously, but it sounds like the legal battle has just begun.
