Brother’s Heartwarming Letter to Santa Has Very Special Request for His Sister

Every year, there are thousands of letters addressed to Santa Claus. The majority of them filled with requests for toys, electronics and other material things. But not this one. 

8-year-old Ryan Suffern from North Carolina starts his letter to Santa as any kid would. He mentions to Santa what items he would like for Christmas, but then the letter quickly takes a turn that will cause even the strongest person to possibly shed a tear.

You see, Ryan decided that he does not want any of the materialistic items any more. All he desires for Christmas is for the other kids to stop bullying Amber, his overweight twin sister. His letter reads:

Dear Santa,

My mom said to send you a Christmas list. I wanted a remote control car and helicopter but I do not want that anymore. Kids at school are still picking on Amber and it is not fair because she does not do anything to them and it makes me mad. I prayed they would stop, but God is busy and I need your help. Is it against the rules to give up gifts early? Can you ask Big Time Rush to come to Amber’s birthday party? It will make her so happy. If you do not get them to come that is fine, just get her everything she asked for.

Ryan and Amber are fraternal twins and she is nearly double the size of her brother. Amber's mother says she is an emotional eater and usually wishes to stay at home after the teasing and bullying at school.

The two third graders are attending Rocky Mount Preparatory in North Carolina, and this is the first time they have had class together. Ryan has told his mom, Karen, about all of the negative comments made towards Amber while at school due to her weight and that some kids tease her by telling her she must be adopted. Karen goes on to say she feels that she is not protecting her daughter by sending her to the school.

The school addressed the situation on their website yesterday after the story hit on various social media sites and made national news saying, "As school leadership, we want everyone to know that we take these types of allegations affecting our scholars very seriously."

It doesn't matter if you are tall or short, blue eyed or green, blond or red hair, white, black, yellow or any other color. We are all just a piece of the puzzle. This young boy needs to be applauded for his efforts at the young age for trying to get the bullying stopped once and for all.
