How serious is Steven Tyler to show off his credentials as he prepares to launch a country album later this year? The answer can be found in his decision to make an appearance on an upcoming episode ABC's hit show Nashville.

Rolling Stone reports Tyler tweeted a picture of himself along with co-star Hayden Panettiere, who plays singer Juliette Barnes on the program. ".@haydenpanettier AND I GETTING A LITTLE 'CRAZY' ON SET AT @Nashville_ABC YOU WONT WANT TO MISS THIS......," he wrote with his signature enthusiasm. And while Aerosmith had a hit with a song called "Crazy," Tyler added the hashtag "#patsycline, possibly to suggest that the two will sing the Willie Nelson-penned classic, also called "Crazy," that Cline took to No. 2 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart in 1961. It also reached No. 9 on the Hot 100.

Though many country stars have appeared on Nashville, it is unknown if Tyler will be playing himself or a character when he shows up. And so far, no air date for the episode has been announced. The show will start its fourth season on Sept. 23.

Tyler first started talking about his solo album in October 2014, with an official announcement that he had signed a deal with Big Machine Records coming six months later. He dropped the first single, "Love Is Your Name," back in May, when it debuted at No. 33 on the Country Airplay chart.

However, he believes that his decision to branch out on his own has caused internal problems in his band, a notion that bassist Tom Hamilton called "ridiculous." "He wanted to do this creative exercise of going and making an album, and I can’t blame him for wanting to do it," Hamilton explained. "Joe [Perry]’s done it before, I’d love to do it someday. Why be angry about it?”

Now that Aerosmith's summer tour has concluded, Tyler will resume work on his first solo album, which still doesn't have a release date or name.
