Spend your life advocating for peace and love, and it still might not be enough to keep people from using your name in connection with a group of murderers.

Just ask Ringo Starr, who's recently watched with anger as a trio of terrorists have made headlines with nicknames inspired by former Beatles. Asked for comment by the London Evening Standard, he bluntly responded, "It’s bulls---. What they are doing out there is against everything the Beatles stood for."

The men in question -- dubbed 'Jihadi' John, George and Ringo -- are fundamentalist fanatics affiliated with the terrorist cell known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (commonly abbreviated as ISIS). The group -- which has received a tremendous amount of scrutiny due to its recent involvement in the murders of American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff -- is said to be using the British men as a way of showing "Westerners that they can belong to our cause."

It's understandably repulsive to Starr, who stressed, "If we stood for anything we never stood for that. The four of us absolutely stood for peace and love. But we are not in control."
