New footage of Franklin D. Roosevelt has recently surfaced and it shows the late president who was in office during The Great Depression and World War II doing something that many historians hoped to find, walking.

Roosevelt, who was the 32nd President of the United States took office in 1933 and was the only president to serve four terms. He contracted polio in 1921 which resulted to his paralysis from the waist down. Roosevelt however refused to believe this was permanent and sought out treatment options.

The footage was found by the family of former baseball player Jimmie DeShong, who recorded Roosevelt during the 1937 All-Star baseball game. When the footage was discovered the family donated the film to the Pennsylvania State Archives.
