An Oklahoma game warden making a routine check of fishing licenses turned into a struggle for his life.

On Sunday, April 26th, the game warden was making a routine check of fishing licenses when he approached three people fishing in Adair county. Things escalated when the game warden learned that one of the three was wanted on a warrant in Arkansas for parole violations. While attempting to take the suspect into custody, a struggle began. Eventually both men fell into the the nearby pond where police said the suspect tried to hold the game warden's head under water. The game warden was able to get above the water and shot the suspect.

Billy Joe Patrick, 29, from Arkansas died at the scene. OSBI is still investigating the incident. More details can be found on Newson6.com.

Again, no one had to lose their life! If the suspect had just allowed the officer to do his job and arrest him, he would still be alive today.
