After a big win over their city rival, Lawton High, last week would the Highlanders be in for a let down after such a emotional win?

Also, after losing the starting quarterback, Anthony Love, for the season, how would the team respond in just week three?

The short answer Special Teams! Quoting coach Manning after the game "they sure were special!"

They indeed were! A highlight reveals them blocking every punt Ike had the whole evening, one turning into a touchdown for Anthony Williams, his first varsity touchdown! Then add the explosiveness of Jarvier Christian twice taking kickoff returns to the house and big touchdowns. That's 21 of the 57 points that Big Mac put up that night.

The defense did not disappoint either and the offense saw a heavy douse of running back Teddy Thomas who carried the load and rushed for close to 300 yards on 40 carries. 296 officially! And, just like that, the non-district schedule of the Highlanders is in the rear view mirror.

Now entering district play with 3 wins and no losses, and looking to extend the record to 4-0 and their first win of the district, they head to Oklahoma City to take on Northwest Classen. This will be the first true road trip of the season after leaving the friendly confines of Cameron stadium.

Enjoy the ride and don't blink because this season is starting to pick up speed not to mention the intrigue of some interesting match-ups to come in our district.
