James Taylor Records Ode To His Two Biggest Loves [VIDEO]

To anybody that has spent any amount of time in Boston, there are three things that are certain: James Taylor can sing and he is probably the biggest Boston Red Sox fan any of us has ever met.

Oh yeah, and the Yankees suck.

Taylor's grandmother was born in 1918, a year which would see the Sox win the World Series. Before the 1919 season, the Red Sox sold a young pitcher named George Herman "Babe" Ruth to the rival New York Yankees, beginning an 86 year championship drought in Boston that was credited to what the locals called "The Curse of the Bambino." They team would not win another World Series until 2004, and Taylor's grandmother lived just long enough to see "the curse" come to an end.

After the Sox won it all in 2004, Taylor wrote "Angels of Fenway" after seeing the joy in his hospitalized grandmother's eyes. He long held it off of album's saying it was far too personalized.

But with the release of a brand new album, Before This World, Taylor has finally put the song down on a record, debuting it during the 7th inning stretch of the Red Sox/Yankees game Sunday night at beloved Fenway Park.

The album, Taylor's first in almost seven years, is slated for release June 16th.
