1. Bianco

Submitted by Cindy Rose
The historic and beloved Bianco's Italian Restaurant once stood in the same location where the Hilton Garden Inn sits today. The restaurant, owned and operated by Rose Bianco, was a community favorite in Lawton for 60 years.

2. Buffalo Soldier

Submitted by Becky Welborn
Lawton is best known for its heritage - both military and its Indian ancestors. The Buffalo Soldiers are a natural choice to represent Ft. Sill, Lawton, our Indian ancestors and the pride that flows from us all.

3. Cobblestone

Submitted by Lexa Richardson
Elmer Thomas created the Cobblestone Community known as Medicine Park and I think that The Cobblestone Meeting Room would be a great name to go along with all the other names they have used for other rooms.

4. Charon's Garden

Submitted by Kim Isaac
Charon's Garden Wilderness area is one of the most beautiful places in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. It is so tranquil and it's my favorite place to go in the Refuge. I think this would be a great name for the meeting room because it would be a nice connection between Hilton Garden Inn and Charon's Garden Wilderness.

 5. General Henry Ware Lawton

Submitted by Chaz Borden
Henry Ware Lawton was killed in action in the Philippine-American war, was also a civil war medal of honor recipient, and the reason Lawton has its name. No better way to keep the Lawton name than in a room at the famous Hilton in Lawton, Oklahoma.

6. Indian Blanket

Submitted by Dorothy Goltry
Not only does 'Indian Blanket' depict our native culture, it is also the state wildflower. Oklahoma designated Indian Blanket (Gaillardia pulchella) as the official state wildflower in 1986. Also called firewheel, the Indian blanket flower is a symbol of Oklahoma's scenic beauty as well as the state's Indian heritage.

7. Mattie Beal

Submitted by Brenda Allard
Mattie Beal was the second person drawn in the Oklahoma land lottery for the Lawton district back in 1901. She won the right to claim a valuable 160-acre allotment. Once known as "the finest home in Lawton," the historic Mattie Beal home still stands today.

Voting will end at 9:00 am on Monday, March 17. You may vote once every 24 hours. Only one vote per IP address, per 24 hours will be counted.
