This new 'Interstellar' trailer gives us our best and most clear look at the plot of Christopher Nolan's upcoming sci-fi epic, and even then, we still don't know that much about the movie. But, after watching this trailer, we wouldn't have it any other way.

UPDATE: You can also watch a just-added 'Interstellar' featurette that focuses on wormholes, which we've added below.

If you're really trying to stay as fresh as possible, we'd avoid watching this trailer (debuting in theaters this weekend with 'Gone Girl'), which debuts a lot of new footage from the movie in a more linear way than it has been presented before. We also spend far more time in space and less time on Earth as the previous trailers. This trailer also gives us new listen to Hans Zimmer's score for the film, which sounds better than anything Zimmer has done in recent memory. (UPDATE #2 - That is not actually part of Hans Zimmer's score, but an original composition by Thomas Bergersen, created for the trailer.)

Interestingly, Nolan wouldn't even tell Zimmer what the movie was about, instead giving him a one-page letter. Explains Zimmer:

Chris wrote down that day what he wanted from me, (which) had more to do with my story than the plot of the movie.

Here's what Paramount has actually revealed so far, via the official synopsis:

With our time on Earth coming to an end, a team of explorers undertakes the most important mission in human history; traveling beyond this galaxy to discover whether mankind has a future among the stars.

We know a handful of people who have been lucky enough to see the film and the reception so far has been unanimous: brilliant, amazing and every other superlative you can think of. One viewer told us, "it's as good as you're hoping it will be."

The trailer was located at the fairly awesome new 'Interstellar' official site, launched in conjunction with Google. If you click on the bottom to play the "Space Hunt" game, you can fly through the galaxy discovering all kinds of hidden 'Interstellar' treats.

Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Ellen Burstyn and Michael Caine all star in the film, and considering we've barely seen Chastain, Affleck and Burstyn in the footage so far, we'll bet there's still a lot of big reveals saved for the theater.

'Interstellar' opens in 70mm IMAX, 70mm film and 35mm film on November 5 and in theaters everywhere on November 7.
