The Queen of Disco Donna Summer has died this morning at the age of 63 after a battle with cancer. Summers was actually born  LaDonna Adrian Gaines on December 31, 1948 in Boston Massachusetts, but changed her name when she go into the music business in the late 1960's and the rest is music history.
Summer had legendary hits in the 70's and 80's like "Last Dance," "Hot Stuff" , "Bad Girls' and "She Works Hard for the Money" and will be sorely missed in the R&B and music industry. Donna Summer was very well respected in the music industry and also well decorated with numerous awards. She was a  5-time Grammy winner, three multi-platinum albums in the US, eleven of her albums went Gold in the US, twelve Gold singles and 6 American Music Awards.
