It was a game hyped up all week from media outlets throughout the state. Some even said it was to be the second best game in the state.  This game sure lived up to its billing. It was big brother against little brother (6-A versus 5-A) inner-city rivals bragging rights for a year...It was also a City Championship on the line. However you viewed the game, the anticipation was running high from the fans on both sides of a packed Cameron stadium on Friday night.

It was the first game to be at home for both teams as they were coming in this contest both having big road wins. The game featured big plays from both teams and after Big Mac lead 15-0 in the first quarter it looked like the game may be one sided. The Wolverines however, with big play capabilities, made this a nip and tuck 2 pointer.

Big Mac led in the 3rd and 4th quarter but the boys from up on the "Hill" came out victorious 35-33 when the final seconds ticked away with a victory formation by the Highlanders to end the contest.

Running back Devon FInkley helped in the Big Mac victory by rushing for 139 yards and 3 touchdowns while quarterback Will Collins threw for 189 yards with two touchdowns.

The quest for the right to be City Champs continues next week as the Highlanders take on the Eagles from Eisenhower who are coming off a big win against Del City and a 1-1 record.

Pregame will begin at 6:30 with kick off set for 7:00. Remember to join us for the Brett Manning coaches show "Live" at El Chico in Central Mall every Tuesday evening from 6-7.
