I love radio, but I love it because it keeps me connected to people. I've done almost every job in the business and now I have the honor of working at this station! I am married to a wonderful (now) retired MSgt in the Air Force. The Darin makes regular appearances on my show, but he usually refuses to talk, so I have to tell all his stories for him. Dillon is my stepson and his stories are also familiar to those that listen regularly. Dillon could be the next me. He LOVES being on the radio. Most days, I work from home and do my show with a portable studio that was built for me since I am now semi-retired (at the ripe old age of 34). So, if you hear the dishwasher, the washing machine or the sounds of a 9 year old with his Lego, it's all good!

Lawton School Supplies List for 2014-2015
Every year, I go into the big store and look at the display and, without fail, the list of school supplies for my son's grade is already gone. You might tell me that I should start this little adventure earlier. In response, I would tell you that my kid does NOT like shopping for school supplies.
DIY Marriage: Truth, Lies and Shovels
The first lie I told my husband last weekend was, "I think this will be a lot of fun, especially since we can do it together!"
That was before the first stone was moved and the first shovel hit the ground.
For our 7th anniversary, we decided to forgo gifts and, instead, dig out the old paving stones leading from our front door to the driveway...

Reading Today Saves Tomorrow’s Memory
If you read a book today, you might be preserving your memory when you are old. A study from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago found that reading any type of literature works to stimulate the brain and that stimulation will help you with your memory when you are old.
Liz Ryan’s Summer Binge Watching List
Summer is a great time to get projects done, do work on the outside of the house and host amazing parties on the patio. It's also really hot a lot of the time and sometimes, you just want to stay inside and quietly absorb the air conditioning.
12 Things You May Not Know Are ‘Made in Oklahoma’
I believe many people in the United States don't understand Oklahoma. They understand the cowboy history, the oil and our Native American legacy but they don't understand that Oklahoma is much, much more than that. On a recent trip to Washington D.C., I was asked if I owned a horse, if I had a ranch, if I had oil on my land. So, even if I cannot educate the masses on our state, I can at least m
When Did Mutt Become a Bad Word?
This is Kramer. He is a fantastic dog. He doesn't jump on furniture, loves to walk on his leash, is never greedy, needy or annoying. Kramer only barks at a stranger one time and then he only does it if the stranger comes into our yard.
Kramer is a mutt.
My Summer Reading List
A new report this week says digital book sales have surpassed book sales from brick-and-mortar stores for the first time in history.
I freely admit I am part of the digital world, but more importantly, I'm part of the reading world and will take my reads wherever I can get them. At any one time, I have at least three to five books that are in some stage of completion. I've posted my reading list
Oklahoma Is the Capital of the World
I was looking for things to do for the 4th of July and saw that in Jay, OK, you can celebrate the 4th of July at the "Huckleberry Capital of the WORLD." I'm not exactly sure what a huckleberry even looks like, but now I really want to go celebrate with them.
Snakes In A Flower Pot
My mom posted this picture on Facebook the other day. This snake was discovered in her flower pot and she was terrified.
What she put on Facebook and what REALLY happened (as discussed on the phone later) will show you how important it is to share stories, no matter how difficult it becomes...
Best (And Worst) Places to Live in Oklahoma
Where is Lawton on the list? Or is it?
Go Low — Best Plants to Save Water on Your Yard
If you've ever driven around Arizona, you'll notice they don't do grass. Well, most of them don't. In many cities, they even give you tax breaks and subsidies for replacing the water-guzzling lawn with decorative rocks and low-water plants...
