I love radio, but I love it because it keeps me connected to people.  I've done almost every job in the business and now have the honor of working at My107.3 FM. I am married to a wonderful (now) retired MSgt in the Air Force.  The Darin makes regular appearances on my show, but he usually refuses to talk, so I have to tell all his stories for him. Dillon is my stepson and his stories are also familiar to those that listen regularly.  Dillon could be the next me.   He LOVES being on the radio. Most days, I work from home and do my show with a portable studio that was built for me since I am now semi-retired (at the ripe old age of 34).  So, if you hear the dishwasher, the washing machine or the sounds of a 9 year old with his Legos, it's all good!

13 Tips For Continuing Water Conservation

It's been an exciting few weeks in Oklahoma.  We've got water in lakes, water on fields and fewer water restrictions.  If you live in Lawton, you've probably heard we are being taken back to Stage 1 Water Restrictions.  That means all water conservation will be voluntary.  Let's not be too quick, though, to go back to our old ways of using and abusing the plentiful supply.  If the last five years has taught us anything, it should be that we can do better at conserving our resources . . . especially when they are abundant.

Comanche County Health Report Card

Despite the title of this article, this is pretty serious.  Looking at the health report card for Comanche County (released in 2014 from OK.Gov) you're probably going to die from heart disease, cancer or lower respiratory disease.  While you might die from an accident, you're safer here than if you lived anywhere else in the state.  Of course, you're chances of dying from an accident also improve if you get out of Oklahoma.

Some of these stats will totally FREAK YOU OUT.

Spiders in Oklahoma and How I Almost Died

Spiders.  I am not very good with spiders.  It probably goes back to my early childhood.  I had long and wild hair that I hated to brush.  My head looked like a brown mop was attached to it most of the summer.  One day, when I was around 8, my brother and I were climbing trees.  It was early spring and the buds on the trees were just sprouting.

That was when a small, black spider jumped from a limb in front of my face and got in my hair.
