According to local station KUSA, the call came in about 5:45 p.m on Sunday. Following the call, Aurora Police announced that they will assign two officers to a car, ensuring the safety of their officers. The threat involved shooting down officers in both Denver and Aurora, Colorado. Police in both towns say they are not scared away by this, it’s only making them stronger.

A short time after that call was made, Aurora police were called out to a scene and subsequently shot at. Authorities don’t yet know if the incidents are related. Officers remain on high alert in both cities; both departments assured the public that their safety is not threatened. The call reportedly came from a disconnected cell phone.
