I'm not sure how anyone could average more than nine hours of sleep a night. Unless you're independently wealthy, don't have kids, and never binge-watch shows on Netflix. But even if you could sleep that much, don't.

According to a new study, getting too much sleep is actually worse for you than getting too little sleep.

The researchers found people who slept more than nine hours a night had a higher risk of heart disease, diabetes, and anxiety. People who slept under six hours also had higher risks of those, but not as high as the people who slept over nine hours. The best amount to sleep is between seven and nine hours a night.

As one who gets up early (not too early) I know all too well about the importance of a good nights sleep.  There are many things we all do on a daily basis. If I do not get a good nights sleep, it can literally cloud my judgement on the air.

Health as stated above is another reason to ensure that you get the necessary amount of sleep.  For the most part, I am healthy and I average 6.5 to 7 hours a night. Sometimes a little less.  Sleep is just as vital to your health as eating properly and getting some exercise in your daily routine. Don't wind up in sleep debt.

How much sleep do you get on average?
